I had an idea about Ukraine through my connection with my best friend from Ukraine but she just went to Ukraine once in last 23 years so she was not really connected with many people except some family members. I was always interested in Ukraine because I have travelled to close to 40 countries around the world and Ukraine was one of the places I wanted to visit. One night I was watching AlJazeera and it showed a documentary about Ukrainian women going to Palestine, About a samaritan community in Palestine, where they have more men than women ( 3 men for one woman)and getting married to Ukrainian women was a way of survival for these community! I was actually shocked and impressed, thinking to myself that women from Ukraine are not only beautiful but also kind and providing a lifeline to a people who would disappear most likely without their help!
And on the other hand, I live in North America ( Calgary, Canada to be precise) I’m not even asking my potential future wife to convert and obviously Canada has more to offer than a small place in the Middle East ( I mean I’m not trying to say Canada is better in every way but definitely bigger). In that video it actually showed a little sign hanging where it says marriagebynatalie.com and a phone number, so I wrote that info down and ended up calling her and talked briefly, Natalie mentioned about her YouTube channel which I watched a few times and learned one very valuable lesson that if I were to find someone who I felt a connection with and of course she also felt for me , do not waste time , take a leap of faith. I also watched other videos Natalie made and they helped me understand Ukrainian women better as well as learn how to build relations with a Ukrainian woman.
After a while I kinda forgot about the whole thing a little and one day I was talking to a friend of mine and he was mentioning to me that when will I get married and to whom? I was like yes, when I find a woman who I feel I’m truly attracted to! He was like where will you find this woman and my answer for some reason was ; Ukraine! Then he asked me how will I find a woman from Ukraine? I told him that there are marriage agencies and I didn’t tell him anything much but he took it upon himself and did some internet searching, sent me some links and ended up calling me back and let me know that I was right and there are many beautiful women from Ukraine through these agencies. I was shocked , again and looked through some pictures and profiles myself and one particular person really caught me eyes. I ended up contacting her , went to Lviv in January 2022 to see her and right after that the whole situation changed and all Ukrainians were offered special visa to Canada, my future bride applied and arrived in September 2022 and we ended up getting married in Feb 11 2023, we took our time a little to get to know each other before getting married but one thing i made sure that I was there for her.
I understood that she is taking a bigger chance on me by moving across the ocean to a new country and a new life so I need to do my part to make her feel comfortable, safe and cared for. I took care of her ticket, hotel stays in Warsaw for visa interview etc etc, I did all that unconditionally. There was no demand that when you come to Canada , you must marry me. I was more like , hey, even if I can help one person from Ukraine in their time of need, it’s my way of contributing positively. \
When I first went to see her in Lviv, I was also generous, women don’t like cheap men, this is particularly true with women from Ukraine , it’s not about money but more like the attitude ( just a piece of advice). After she came here, we did get to know each other, I proposed and she said yes, we stayed engaged for 5 months and got married recently. I can say without a doubt that she’s an amazing person, I talk to her mom, dad and grandma regularly. Family oriented people with great values.
I feel blessed and grateful, feels like this was meant be, destiny. I can’t emphasize enough about what a great country Ukraine is and the people are even greater, in January 2022 traveled through Lviv and Kyiv, I instantly liked the country, her people, food , culture everything. I do wish for the best for Ukraine and hopefully soon all the problems go away so she can flourish again and shine even brighter. Thank you, Natalie, for your YouTube videos and a lot of information about Ukrainian women that helped me create my family!
